Antique rush woven Scottish fireside chair. An attractive Orkney chair, this oak piece has the signature woven winged back and rush seat. The charming traditional design comes from the islands to the north of Scotland, where they kept the drafts away from the user and had seats low enough to keep away from the smoke generated by open peat fires. Lovely low set fireside chair in very good condition.
