This is a lovely early 19th-century (c.1800) Chinese antique large lacquered gilt tea chest, containing an original Paktong tea caddy. The chest is beautifully decorated with village scenes.. All hand-painted with gilding in fine details. Initial P on interior lid. The internal Paktong caddy liner decorated with hand chased and engraved. The chest is heavy due to the weight of the Paktong liner. Missing interior pull button.
